The Rough Country Home Studio
The Rough Country Home Studio was officially started in Fall 2011, but it really began way before that.
My fascination with horse shoes began at an early age. I grew up with riding horses - my buddies Star, our Quarter Horse, and Captain, an Old Line Morgan. We had a farrier come ever couple months to shoe the horses and he left the used shoes.
My dad and I started a fund-raiser project with my 4-H horse club, the Montgomery County Horse N Around 4-H Club. With the used horse shoes, I made horse shoe coat hooks and sold them during the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. All the proceeds were donated to the Club.
Since then, I've made a variety of things, from coat hooks, to furniture, to signs and even sculptured Christmas Trees welded - all together out of re-purposed horse shoes!

The Slightly Hammered Ironworks and Sutlery
Recently, a friend of mine, Nathan and I started up the Slightly Hammered Ironworks and Sutlerly to make items to sell at 1860s Living History Events.
You wouldn't know it, but I'm over 150 years old!
My sister, Jessica, and I were raised going to 1860s (American Civil War) living history events with my dad.
Recently, a living history friend of mine, Nathan,, and I joined up at one of these events to run the forge. Since then, we've been known as the Slightly Hammered (get it! Hammered!) Ironworks and Sutlerly! We even have a Facebook Page too!
